Chances are your question may be answered here- thank you for your questions!
Does this race have a time limit?
5 hour limit.
Is it a Walker Friendly Event?
Yes, with a generous time limit of 5 hours. We want you to be able to enjoy the paved trails and amazing beauty. This run is presented to be inclusive of a range of abilities, we even have a walk category.
Do you allow dogs on leash to walk/run this race?
This course is not well suited for dogs, mainly because of the grated bridge and nature of the route with hundreds of folks on the sometimes narrow path for the out-and-back. However, we will be back with the “Dog Leg” category for the Columbia Gorge Half Marathon on October 26th, and hope you’ll join us with your pooch then.
Are strollers allowed?
Strollers are allowed for the 10K distance. However, not in the Half Marathon because there are stairs in the Half Marathon route. The 10K turn around is before those stairs. Please keep in mind the Bridge of the Gods is a grate bridge and could be a bit bumpy for that short distance.
Do you receive a metal?
Yes, for either half and 10K.
How difficult is the course- does this course include any hilly areas or is it fairly flat?
Course is rolling hills and moderate in difficulty on a closed pathway on the majority of the course. All the elevation gain is pretty gradual on the course. The 10K has just over 400 ft of gain and the Half Marathon has 1050 ft gain. You can view the course elevation profiles on the course map pages on the site.
Can I walk across the bridge to the Start or should I take the shuttle?
We suggest taking the shuttle. You could walk the 1/2 mile+ across the bridge from the hotel, but the bridge will NOT be closed to vehicle traffic at that time and it will be busier than normal with buses shuttling participants to the start and people headed to the parking for the event.
What time will the bridge of the gods be shut down?
You must be on the shuttle bus to the start between 6am-7:30am. That means you should be parked at the finish venue in Marine Park, pick up your packet by 7am if you did not pick up at one of our other packet pick up options (packet pick up will close at 7am), and on the shuttle bus between 6am-7:30am. Keep in mind we are transferring 1000 people, so please allow adequate time to not delay the start.
Does your event have any restrictions on the use of Nordic walking poles?
Nordic walking poles are fine, please keep in mind you will be sharing the out and back trail with about 1000 other folks.
Is there a cap on this race? If so, what is it and when do you anticipate selling out?
We have a 1,500 person cap on the race this year. We want to make sure everyone has a enjoyable and non crowded experience.
Lunch is included in this race, will there be a veggie (vegan) option for lunch?
Yes indeed, we will have a veggie & vegan options and gluten-free!

Yes they definitely are welcome- we want to get the Finish Line Party rocking!

Where is a good hotel to stay and/or are there camping options?
There are lodging and camping options on both sides for the river, only minutes from the parking and start.
Can we pick up race packets for friends?
Yes, please provide us with a letter, email or text message authorizing you to pick it up on their behalf.
Do you have a refund or transfer policy?
Yes, There are no refunds issued for your registration however, we do offer the opportunity to transfer your registration to next year's event or to transfer your registration to another participant on the waiting list. This transfer must happen at least 1 month before the event. After that it gets super busy as we approach the event date and we will be unable to process any transfers. This is a courtesy we offer to our participants. But please don't ask us to extend it within that one month before the event. If you are transferring your registration to someone else, you must let us know so we can update their contact info and family contacts in the event of an emergency.
